Default Custom cages, are they in trouble - rumour

Saw a post on facebook (so it must be true) that Custom cages are in trouble, Now I'm not saying they are or are not, but was looking at buying from them possibly in the next few months and obviously it has put me off a bit until I'm sure I'm not going to lose money, any assurances or anyone heard anything? and just to reaffirm this is just an internet rumour, may just be a customer they've annoyed, but still worth asking.

just to add the rumour has been shared over 1000 times in les than a day

Statement from Custom Cages official facebook page:

We understand that one of our customers is unhappy about our work. We have tried very hard to resolve the situation but no avail. The matter is now in the hands of our solicitors. \please be assured we have not ceased trading and business is very much as usual.

So fingers crossed its nothing

Probably abit to far for you guys but there is a chap near me in Norfolk who is very good and well priced around Ł850 for a welded in custom cage.

Ive seen it doing the rounds on facebook. I know reviews are mixed regarding them. The the only issue Ive had is a booking to have a cage welded in to be last minute changed to date 2 months away so just purchases the roll bar kit and found someone else to weld it in. I have to question if the welding is actually their work?

But is there actually any evidence of who done the work ?

It's easy to post pictures and make allegations....we all know what the internet is like for that.....ffs it's almost as bad as speed cameras !

They take bullshit pictures too with silly allegations !

There are loads of cases re custom cages, the more you research the more youll find, shit loads in fact. Poor fitment, poor welding, poor time scales, poor atttitude from owner and staff.

Old and new cases so not even a recent down hill thing.

Shoddy, i definately wont be using them.

I wouldnt be buying a shelf cage anyway.

Find a local prep guy who builds cages. If you find the right person, they'll be able to build a great cage for any car, and probably cheaper too.

Of course there are a lot of really shit ones out there too ! so definitely get to see their work before hand.
