Default F16 COS registration and forum member Adam Rst

Ok, so it seems i purchased a number plate from this site, from member adam rst.

Mr Adam Harris from dartford kent.

Now, i purchased the plate, never registered it and sold it to another forum member on here (ian cole) ian has gone to transfer over to his focus and dvla have informed him that the plate has been resold by the original seller to a plate dealer.

Basically what has happened is, the original owner, adam harris has been a massive c... And sold the plate on new documents more than once!!

Here is the link From my purchase..bought back in february, sold to ian around a month ago.

https://passionford.com/forum/ford-f...sold-sold.html

I have adams address, should he still live there...but i want to give the chance to resolve this the easy way. I have sent many pms, as has ian, someone must know this guy.

Don't give him the chance mate.

He knew what he was doing if he sold it twice!

Go knock on his door.

Are you saying he gave you the retention cert and then applied for a new one? Hope you get this sorted.

Do you not have proof of ownership or proof of purchase. Contact the dvla. As much as it seems a good idea going down there and having a row will not get your money back

why don't you simply call the company in question and ask them why they are advertising a plate that legally belongs to you?

as this is them breaking the law?

i'm sure they can afford better lawyers than you so let them deal with adam

Because legally he now owns the plate. Both myself and ian have spoken with plate company and dvla.

Basically he has sold me the plate, sent papers, rang dvla and asked for dupliacte paperwork, which is sent out on new numbers..making my paperwork redundant and worthless.

In an ideal world i should have transfered the plate straight away, but i was in build process and not taxed or motd.

The plate company have told me they purchased from adam harris in last 2 months!!!

That's probably what I would do. If you've got the documents then I'm sure they will have to help you out. They may be better equipped to deal with it.

Edit: just read your last post. Police/court then as advised above. I'd still go round and punch him though. Fucking bellend.

Hope you get this sorted mate.

you definately have a legal case as surely this is obtaining money by deception, you must inform police and get legal ball rolling and progress from there, not that it helps you a great deal but he has now been removed from this site.

Best to get the police involved but I bet there say there's nothing they can do its a civil matter. Your no doubt end up having to take him to court. Guy sounds a right cunt for doing it. One things for sure you go round there and smack him your end up with nothing other than a record and a fine

Don't get the dvla involved from the get go, they honestly don't know their arse from their elbow when things get complicated like this

You've paid for an item

You've received said item

You own said item, with proof of payment and purchase

And now you find said item which is your property, for sale being sold by someone else

That is what you need to explain to plod and then take it from there

Matters of retention and the like are the next step once you've provided evidence that you are the legal owner
