Cosworth Steering Tie Rod Length?
Needing some help to work out what th exact length of the tie rod is so I can get the correct size extension to fit the puma. I don't want to end up buying a tie rod just to find out, as I need a new rack really and then don't want to take the gaiters off to find out. So if anyone knows that would be a great help!
I know GGR list he length as 310mm but is this the total length - track rod end thread to end of rack thread? Or is it bump stop to end of track rod end thread?
Once I know this I can get the extensions I need.
Thanks in advance

when i fitted ends that were too long i simply cut them down and threaded the ends to suit
the puma one will be much shorter if it's standard so ask warren as he fiddles with them a bit and glenn has a non fiddled with one so he might be able to give you the other size you need

Thanks for the reply dojj, i think that's the approach I'm going to take. Cut the tie rods down on the new rack and just get extensions that I know will give me the total length I need to fit for the wider track. Can only seem to find extensions no smaller than 50mm each side meaning with those fitted it will make the tie rods too long. Trying to avoid the original approach of just welding threaded bar to the tie rods using a larger collar which then means you can't change the gaitors!
