As title. What would you recommend?

rover 620 turbo

or the two-tone escort dash on ebay with the 2.0 blacktop :P

as much as i dislike rovers, those turbo ones are pretty quick

 

seat ibiza 1.9tdi 6 speed with a remap. No weight and decent torque/hp. They rev well and fly along, bit bouncy even as standard

 

Stretch it a bit more my brothers 330d tourer. Goes really well for a diesel

 

Yeah most diesels with a remap give boy racers a hard time and some can see them off no problem with there loud exhausts making noise and going nowhere lol

 

Any T5 powered Volvo, you literally can't go faster for the money other than a bike.

 

Never owned a diesel so not familiar with them but I do know some can shift!

I was thinking Volvo or Saab turbo?

 

Both Volvo and Saabs can produce some big numbers with relative ease.

S/V40 T4's are quite pokey out the box with 200bhp, 850/Ph1 V70/C70 T5's are all at least 225bhp, a remap alone will see 250-260bhp depending who you go to, the midrange pull on my 850 is comical.

Any Saab from mid-late 90's with the redtop cam cover are the ones to have, 9000 Aero's will see 300bhp on standard gear, not to mention they have THE comfiest seat ever conceived by man.

 

An old V8 5 or 7 series!

 

another vote for a t5 Volvo, there are some real bargains to be had and they sound good doing it.

 

Saab or Volvo I'd say.

 

i had a E430 merc, lovely to drive, lazy auto, but could show the tail pipe to most hot hatch type cars, and would easily get to the 155 limiter in no time, should pick one of them up for under 2k easy, i would have the estate next if i get another, so its piratical as well

 

c20let corsa/nova, at around 300bhp they go like fook even more so with the 6spd box fitted, admittedly you'd get a shitter for that ŁŁ but are easy to sort or even re-shell

 

Any Volvo with a T5 badge all day long! Saab is a good option too.

 

I'm a big fan of the old Saab 95s especially the aero hot ones and that's probably where my money would go.

Had a nice looking Volvo v70r wagon try to race me yesterday on the A1 (I was in my scooby). As I pulled in to left lane, he floored it past me only to the notice the speed camera around the next bend and boy did he slam on the anchors quick!

What do boy racers drive these days? Diesels is the answer I'm afraid, it's a dying thing seeing a little hatch with a mahoosive exhaust lol

 

Police spec Vectra VXR (Special) 2.8v6 turbo and 280 bhp. White ones can be had for around Ł1300 other colours such as pomegranate red or metro blue are Ł1900 upwards.
