Default Anyone know much about Deutsch connectors?

Need to buy a Deutsch AS Series connector for the engine loom but now I've been told I can't use 1mm2 cable with the pins?
I over-specced my loom in 1mm and 1.5mm thinwall so if that's the case I'm a bit stuck!

Can anyone confirm this?

I'm sure you can get 16 gauge terminals which is about 1.3mm.

Also if they're not available for the as series just use the hd series. Nothing wrong with them at all.

Cheers for that. I couldn't find any 16 AWG pins for the AS Series. I'll email WireCare and see what they stock. They seem to have a few Deutsch products.

Make sure they stay in a dry environment. My experience of them is they are good at keeping the water out, but if any water does get in then it will be trapped in there and corrode the pins in no time. Assemble them with some non conductive grease will help too.

How many contacts do you need in the connector?

Cheers, Richie. Will bare that in mind. I need a minimum of 24 contacts just for the engine harness, but a few extra means I could also incorporate the Stack gauge wiring as well if need be.

The biggest shell can take 29 16ga connectors so you should be fine.
