2012 ka. Leaking oil from bellhousing . Local garage is quoting 260 pound to do repair .I thought maybe a bit expensive at that. Thing is now clutch is starting to slip so looks like it's going to need one of them. I'm guessing they will just replace seal from belhousing side so not that big a job.

 

It depends which seal it is, it may be the rear main (crankshaft) oil seal or the input seal on the gearbox, either way its box out to replace

 

And that explains the price, lots of labour.

I had a Ka clutch/slave done on a SportKa about 5 yr ago and it cost £~300

 

Not a bad price really, don't know what garages charge around your way but most round here are £60+vat an hour, so I'd be happy enough with that quote.
