Default P100 which engine to fit?

Hi all, new to the site.
Been having a bit read of different topics over the last few months.
I've a P100 bought as an oil burner, intension was to use until I decided which petrol engine to fit - well the turbo blew up last week so I've decided to ditch the oil burner.
Has anyone had any luck transplanting the Scorpio cosworth 16v into other models?
I looking along lines of V6 of sorts but which one?

Any thoughts appreciated.

Ta Ian

Default Engines

The Essex V6 will drop straight in as this was factory fitted and all the mountings are available.

Sounds like the simplest option and the Essex V6 can be modified to give plenty of power. With a good twin exhaust system they sound great as well!

Surely this has got to be the option to go for? Although I'd ditch the auto personally but thats just me

Would it fit on the standard diesel box with the correct flywheel?

I'm just starting my p100 st170 project. Find a 2l zetec from a focus/mondeo, fuck the dmf off it and run it on carbs/tb's. Loads of info available and parts also..

for the amount of hassle, modifications, parts, etc BOA/BOB V6 24v from a granada as your best bet.

Then either fit a type 9 or MT75 hybrid box.

Should be close to 200bhp/torque out of the box. Or add a single or twin turbo conversion and go aftermarket management - will be good for 300bhp then and more torque

i think the new v6 ecoboost would be nice, either 2.7 or 3.5, both well over 300hp out the box, and mt82 manual 6 speed mounts straight up out of a v6 mustang 3.7, or got flappy paddle auto, but the v6 ecoboost isn't a cheap option, and you have to ship from the states, but would be different
