Default New cam, do I need to check anything?

This is my first engine build, and whilst Google can sometimes be of help, I can't find anything definitive for this!

My head needs to go away to have my big valves fitted, do I need to check anything clearance wise prior to it? I'm changing the cam too if that makes any difference? I imagine I need to know some numbers for when it comes to shimming?

Any advice greatly appreciated!

The valve clearances and spec should all come with the new cam,

yeah, make sure the pistons dont hit the valves!
also the cam needs to be run in, dont let it idle, you need to run it at around 2000rpm for 20 minutes or so,
are you fitting new followers too?
