Had a thread in the Mondeo section, Probably get more attention here.

I need 2 petrol tank straps for a '99 Cougar 2.5 V6. Ford want €200 (£150ish) for the pair.

Now I'v checked and they're different to a Mondeo, and 1 of the straps is different to a 2.0 Cougar.

Anyone know where they can be got For reasonable money? (Very unlikely to get them second hand as they all rust)

Go to a metal fabricators and ask them to knock one up for you out of stainless. It'd take an hour max and still be cheaper than ford.

 

That's the alternative if I can't source a set in the next day or so.

Apparently some from a Mercury will fit, They're on eBay in New York though. So much hassle/money getting them across.

 

Just to update, Ford wanted €200/£150ish

Got a local guy to make up 2 from Stainless, €30/£22 the pair!
