Default Where to pick up Rpm pluse on EFI car

I need an rpm plus similar to that of the negative on a coil, as my cars EFI now I don't have a coil where could I pick it up? Don't rely want to use the Cps has I've had issues with it in the past and it's been replaced and rewired

Anywhere else? Alternator maybe?

There's definitely one on the EDIS, I believe it's pin 2

If this is for the rev counter have a word with Karl as he has a nifty trick with a relay to use MFI rev counter with EFI. I think you have OFAM fitted too? in which case the ecu has a programmable tacho output as well as the EDIS output which is normally used in conjunction with a hard to find filter to remove a diagnostic pulse which EDIS sends.

PS EDIS tacho out is pin 2 or 11. These are internally connected although pin 11 is usually blank.

Yeah it's pretty easy to use the tacho out from the ECU and a relay to run your MFI gauge if needed mate.

either way, your ecu has various programmable outputs including tacho so could easily control water injection. Depending on which model you have (OFAM) you can also set whether the tacho out is 5V or 12V using an internal dip switch.

Yea the D3 is the current OFAM and it can do a fair bit. Karl is the man so should have no trouble hooking it all up.

I would go with an ECU output for your particular install, but for anyone running distributorless ignition you can use this circuit:

Allows all coils to be combined in to one signal. I use a 1N4744 for the Zener diode.

Cheers,
