Default Amal valve wires?

Hello folks. The 2 wires going to the amal valve have broken away from the connector. Which way round does the black/red and brown/yellow wires plug onto the valve?

I've got a new plug connecter but cant tell which way round they should be.

Cheers.

Are the old wires stuck in position? If you lay them next to the amal valve, does one sit naturally horizontally and one vertically?
They'll have been in the same position for so long they should hold their natural position

No mate. In typical fashion they have snapped right at the end of the crimped terminal so not leaving any insulation which means I cant tell which goes where!

bummer. if i'd have had mine in the garage I could've told, you but it won't be back until next week. I've found the wiring diagam from my Cosworth manual supplement, but it doesn't give any colours, just wiring numbers but it might give you a clue. I'll post a couple of pics up for you shortly

Hi mate, thanks for taking the time to post the pictures up. I still cant tell which way round the wires go on the plug, item 'H' is represented by a block on the diagram without a key as to where the 2 wires go.
I've trawled through dozens of resto thread pages, looked at adverts on ebay & pistonheads trying to find an engine picture but no joy!!!
