Being as the parents have finished the mortgage on their house my dad has treated himself to a car he's always wanted since they came out





Sorry its not a fantastic pic just took it quickly when they got it home, number 72, full service history, dealer maintained, remapped and fitted with a different exhaust, 340bhp (believe it has been dyon'd at this). Only had a quick run in it so far but its fekin awesome! Sounds great too. My dads wanted one since they were launched but with kids growing up and a house to pay for he hasn't had the opportunity to buy something special for a long time, actually feel really happy for him, deserves it.

 

My brother in law had one of these and I thought it was awesome. Still are a lot of car for the money.

Love the WR1's. 320bhp as standard arnt they?

 

I think the figure is 316bhp (320ps, don't know what ps is mind), this one should be a little bit more, but I think even totally standard it would be enough really.

 

Very very nice, I was contemplating selling my ST for one. Always loved them since they came out. Very jealous!

 

ST's were the other cars he was looking at as it happens, but in the end his heart wasn't in them, then he found that on ebay and it won him over.

I have to say seeing the colour in pics doesn't doo much for me, but I reckon it really works in the flesh.

 

2nd'ed . . I had the DCCD paired to a short ratio jdm five speed in my V5 sti type R . . great setup!

 

It wouldn't put me off owning one, right from new I just don't get the hospital green, it should be a more intimidating colour as a solburg special edition.

 

i really like the colour, always have. owned one around 4-5 years ago was an awesome car. these are hard to beat for the money as a bit of fun.

 

Ye I have to say for the money it would take some beating (evo I guess a good alternative). Its the only car that took his fancy, he would like a cossie but getting parts and rust etc put him off them a bit. It has anti lag on it, but its very mild, a few quiet pops and that's about it, didn't seem any quicker through the gear with it.

 

Very nice almost bought one a couple of months ago but it was away, ended up getting a spec c instead.

Spec c in Ayrshire, I'm in Ayrshire mate what kind of spec c you got I'm sure I've seen a hawkeye spec c near prestwick a few weeks ago.

 

I've got a white blob eye spec c, haven't seen the hawkeye one going about but think there is another white blob spec c in killie area.

 

Awesome, gotta love a WR1! Still holding their money as well and will be a classic in time. We have an Impreza (classic shape) as a daily, still a great car and puts a smile on my face

 

He looked at RB320s too, but the nicest were out of his price range a touch, and the tax is Ł500 on them! (290 for a wr1)

 

Ye I cant see this car ever becoming boring, and that boxer engine note is addictive.

 

Cracking cars. I had a bugeye Sti type uk with the dccd and 6 speed box, bought it modded to 383bhp and was the best car I ever had. Until I broke the bottom end in a big way

 

One of my favourite sounds of all time!
