Default Series 2 head dilemma

I'm having Cossie management put on my S2 and have been offered a new head big valves ported and polished. Now while the conversion is being done it makes sense to do the head. But trying to work out if it's going to be worth it for the cash. The more oomph will surely be noticeable and engine to be less restrictive. I'm sat here scratching my head on what to do.

Any forum can help in spending your money .

Will you be changing the head yourself and do you have much experience? What is the rest of the engine spec?

No, my mate was gonna change it all as he's a good mechanic and knows a thing or 2 about rs turbos. I think I'm going to stay with std head as the rest of the engine is std. I'll most likely get my head ported.

You'd really need a good cam also to compliment the head, so worth equating that into costing also mate.
If you are not chasing figures then the standard head will be fine.
There's a few options, my old fiesta for example had a standard head, a Kent cam, 4x4 cossie T3 with a .63 housing, low compression and weber management mapped holding 22psi, was rolling roaded at 255bhp with 252ft lb
It all depends what the overall result you are looking for.
A head swap at a later date is no biggy

Yeh not chasing big figures as won't use the car enough anyway, as you know I have the focus. Just a nice usable Rs turbo with Webber management with plenty of poke to it. I have a stage 2 t3 anyway so guess that helps
