First up hello peeps, been pointed you way by some helpful folks I know.

I've just acquired a cheap 08 plate 2.5t mondy, now it drives perfect however on startup it taps loudly for 10-12seconds while idling at 1500rpm! before dropping to 650rpm and going silent, it also makes a screech but I believe this to be a dodgy aux belt related to the pas pump+rack that needs sorting.

Could this just be wrong oil or something more serious? its been on helix 0/30w the guy says and has had the oil housing done, (i am the 2nd owner however the car has covered 150k motorway miles)

I only paid pennies for it and the bodyworks mint so I don't mind throwing cash at it if something needs doing.
