Just had a look and this car made an incredible £47,000 at auction.

and capri brooklands going for £15k!

 

Silly money BUT great for owners of them

 

Did the bidders presume it was an RS500?
that's a crazy price for no reason,

you will be shocked how many people think all 3 doors are rs500s

Why on earth would anyone pay double ( or more in this case ) than the car was realy worth

No it was from a old boy who wanted a cosworth to collect but dont use internet/forums and wanted a cossie, in all fairness if you lot wanted a cossie but dont use internet were would you find one as our local Auto Trader hasnt had any in for a while. Auction was just down the road from me but my friend made it and said there was 3-4 people bidding upto the 40k mark. we take it for granted we can buy cheap cars because we have luxury of forums and ebay.

 

I got my mate to bid on a AX GT for me but that also went to £3600 and it wasnt that clean.

 

Exactly it's all about how informed you are, and how much money you have to spend, some people on here will haggle over a £15k car as they will need to stretch to afford it, others with plenty of expendable income will be pay over the going rate for the convenience of just having it easy.

 

It must be hard to find one that's on its original paint these days no?

 

i dont think they knew if it was on original paint ,thats why they left the dust on it

 

The Ad says it was but who knows without inspection, I'll bet not many haven't been touched up over the years, not saying it was worth the price paid just a general muse really

 

Also ill tell you now in 5 years time if im still about ill bring this post up and say 47k dont seem to bad nowadays. they willl be above that.

 

if only he had spent a few hundred quid on a laptop and some internet, he would have saved a shit load, and may have even got a better example!
