I've already seen the threads regarding the fuel tank differences... 88 spec: large sender hole. 90 spec: small sender hole.

My car is from 1989, and the whole car is 88 spec. BUT it's build date is May 1989, and the seller told me this is the exact month that they changed the tanks.

Since atm I do not have any chance to remove my old tank and check for myself, can anyone confirm that if my car is an 88 spec, the tank is an 88 spec as well?

 

with cars being this age you can't know for sure untill you took it off. If one of the owners swapped tank you might buy the wrong parts already. As you already say the whole car is 88 spec why won't the tank be...

To make sure just lower the tank
