my sierra cosworth 2wd!!!
HI guys! i'm a men from Italy, and me and my father have bought some days ago a 1989 ford sierra cosworth 2wd, the model with four door. The old owner has kept it very bad regarding the body of the car, he covered it with horrible stickers....but the engine is ok, it sound very good. So, we decided to paint it and we want to make a replica of some famous one. But, i can't find anything!! infact we want to make a replica like to marlboro one of carlos sainz, but he had the 2 door one, not like us! so, can somebody help me? i need to find one to replicate it, i find only the 4x4 model that race a lot in rallyes, but none of the 2wd. Please help me!
anyway sorry for my bad english, i will try to write better next time!
oh, i forgot one thing. We need the front glass cause the one we had is broken, and we need a gear that goes in the gear box, i dont know how you call it in eglish, in italian we call it "coppia conica", the translator call it "bevel", like i said it's a sort of gear that is used to make the gear shorter.
So guys, somebody know where i can buy this two thing? thanks a lot

Have you tried google for pictures?
Looking at Italian car parts names reminds me of my days working at Ferrari! Could be worth contacting Oppliger Motorsport for gear parts?

Thanks for the reply! Yes i search a lot on google, but unfortunately i wasnt able to find a car like mine, all 4x4...anyway i already see oppliger, but they are really expensive! Maybe somebody in this forum sell it with a little lower price
Nico.
Try google search sapphire cosworth rally cars. This will bring up many pictures. As for your gearbox are you after a short shift kit or a gear? Both can be purchased from Burton power or gears in the uk.
I understand your problems with parts as i work for a lancia resortation company and parts are hard to find for 50's and 60's cars.

Paul

yes, they are wonderful! But the bad thing is that i find out that only the 3 door model or the 4x4 version of 5 door has official rally car, no one is like mine. Anyway we decided to do it like the one of miki biason, a rally driver born in my same town, we start next week!
There was a 2wd 4-door in Q8 livery, but I'm not sure if it was ever raced or if it was just a test/demonstration car.
I would also recommend Oppliger as you are in Italy, nothing to do with Cosworths is not going to be cheap anywhere anyway.
