Default Cosworth fan not working with MSD loom?

Can anyone who has an MSD updated fan loom in the Cossie help me out?

The fan only works if I Earth the black bypass wire. I've tried a new fan switch but still not working.

It was fitted to the car when I bought it so not sure if it's fitted correctly but looks pretty simple so I'm assuming it is!

It's bugging me now

The black wires for an override switch ain't it? Have you checked the connector for the fan switch itself

My fan switch was fooked on my cossie even though it was only a few years old. Take the plug of the fan switch then put a piece of wire in the plug and see if the fans come on.

Try connecting the fan switch to it and use a lighter to heat the end could be a blockage in the coolant system?

You sure you've let it get hot enough?

Is your temp gauge working properly?

If its not working on either then its either the connections to the fan motors themselves or its got a poor earth, or wired poorly

Cheers mate can't see how it could be wired poorly it's pretty idiot proof and too my time to run it down the inner wing nice the connectors for the fans looked a bit cheap and will clean up the Earth on the battery and try that

Is it an option the fans could have died or are they pretty reliable?

Possible but very unlikely, try running a straight live and earth to the fans to see if they work to rule that out

Well the fans are working with power directly from the battery so wil have to bring the car home and look further but can't see any obvious problems with it proper odd

If they don't kick in with the override then it could be relay or connections
