Default Apparently thinners + brake cleaner + a blow torch = A BOMB

Yep I made a bomb by mistake.
While trying to start a bonfire I had a small fire just starting and I poured some thinners on it to help it along a bit.
This put the fire out.
I thought this was a little strange, then thought maybe it's a water based thinners to go with the water based paint I just got?
So I read the tin and it didn't say flammable anywhere.
So I poured some brake cleaner on it too.
Then I lit it with a blow torch.
Needless to say it exploded, there was a massive fireball and it sent me crashing to the ground resulting in partial thickness burns to my whole arm.
Lesson learnt lol.

Wow....you are now my hero, in a fireball kinda way.

I bet that really hurts having recently gotten a small welding burn. I hope it heals fast with no lasting damage.

Have you ever heard that playing with fire can be dangerous? Lucky you didn't try to put it out with TNT

A guy I worked with once thought giving a BBQ a boost using petrol would be a good idea!! Ended up with 3rd degree burns all over his upper body & face.

Hope you get back on your feet soon!

Funny enough it didn't hurt at the time but within minutes it was pain like I've never experienced before.
They put me on morphine in the hospital.
It also burned my armpit, singed my left hand, all my stubble, my lips, my nose and some head hair lol.
My right hand is very swollen, I've only just got some movement back in it and the fire was Saturday.
And of course I'm right handed lol.
Just at hospital now waiting for a check up.

Water based thinners for water based paint...? That would be water then.
Just like petrol its the vapour around the liquid that ignites.

Water base thinners is alcohol based. You should see what happens when you put 25 litres of 2k thinners on a fire...

Thats fucking awesome!! as said, you wont do that again!!

Next time, flame from a distance!

If you want a fun bomb, throw a couple bags of flower out a 2nd floor window onto concrete, then throw out a bit of burning rag. Kaboooooooommmmmmm When the atomised flour explodes.

Note: be reasonably far from it.

the good old anarchists cookbook. wasnt online in its unedited form for long, even back in the day.

But to be fair its outdated. Most of the household cleaning chemicals have had thier formulas changed years ago to stop people blowing shit up.

Yep also a lot of the additives you had to buy like certain acids and powders you can't buy over the counter like you use to
