Default Maybe a silly question but ......

I'm still having issues with the idle on my 92 4x4 Saph - I'm going to take it to someone to get it looked at properly and hopefully resolved - but is is okay to drive the car with the idle control valve disconnected (the electrical plug on the top not connected I mean) - it seems to run fine with it unplugged but don't like to drive it like this just incase ? Advice appreciated please !
Thanks, DW.

What sort of problems do you have when it's plugged in? When I first got mine, it would occasionally decide it wanted to idle at about 3k :wall

Sometime when started, either hot or cold, it revs to about 2000rpm and stays there, sometimes for a while, sometimes for just a minute or so.

I tried a new Idle Control Valve but it hasn't really made a difference to be honest - so I'm gonna let a pro fix it for me !

But just in the meantime, wondered if I can just unplug it and drive it with it disconnected - as when unplugged, the car idles fine !

Can't comment re unplugging the Iscv as I don't know, but on mine, when it did it, I unplugged the three big multi plugs on the bulkhead, put some electrical contact grease stuff in them and was fine for a while. A mate who's good with a soldering iron cut them out eventually as they just got on my tits, but never did it again!

Yeah, I'm a bit nervous of unplugging other stuff just incase that causes another issue !!

And I'm hoping to get someone to look at it soon and fix it properly so fingers crossed !

Anyone else know if I'm okay to unplug it and drive it still ?

Its ok to drive with it unplugged, its main job is too raise revs when heavy loads like the fans or heater blower or heated screens are used

Thanks chaps, puts my mind at ease !
When it's unplugged, it idles as it should I believe, at around 800rpm - sounds normal to me anyway rather than racing it's nuts off when it's connected !
