Default Running up the strip at the classic ford show?

Does anyone know if you can run a sapphire up the strip at Classic Ford Show?
Can I just turn up, pay my money and run?

Cheers Paul

Not 100% sure but I would have thought that you should be able to. It will be a bit quiet on the track if only the true classic Fords are allowed to use it.

I assume your Saff is a classic now mine has appeared in the hallowed pages of Classic Ford mag. Shocked to see it as I didn't know the article was going in it, they pinched it from another mag.

Well this is it, what is deemed as a classic?
Just by age?
I know last year Jon Gamble was running his saff (which is actually newer than mine too) so guessing it's ok?

And as Rod says his car has even been featured in the mag

Cheers Paul

i thought the saff cossies were the only exception to the post '90 rule last year so if it hasn't changed then you should be fine. to run up the strip you can pay on the day. you'll need to show both parts of your driving licence, arms and legs must be covered and if you're going to hit a 110+ mph terminal you'll need a crash helmet.

a spare diff might be a good idea as well

The saph is exempt from classic restrictions so is classed by classic ford organisers as a classic, however escort cosworths are NOT classed as a classic and do not come under the show organisers criteria and should not even be part of any club stand, but we all know ignorant club organisers will sneak in other post 1991 cars which defeats the object of the show in first place

but what about 1993 4x4 saph cossies? How are they any different to the earlier 1991 4x4's? Also if these are allowed then why not a k reg escos?

Why not a 1994 car or perhaps a 1995 heavens surely a 2006 car is just fine or even the new 2015 Focus RS . The stake has to go in somewhere & its 1991 I guess.

As already stated, 5pm - 8pm on the Saturday night is Fords only unlimited runs plus it's a good show for camping and the craic

Sunday gets mega busy and you will spend most of the day queuing to do your 4 runs.

Mint show irrelevant of the Classic or not bullshit

All saffs are allowed as production started before 1991. Escort cosworths didn't start production till 1992 hence why they aren't allowed this year.

That is the reply I got from classic ford as I asked if I'd be allowed to display my escos.

I ran the fiesta last year - 91 rs turbo with no questions. The strip was dead and would've run all day but I blew the turbo up just before lunch so that ended my fun!
Answer... If it's a ford it'll go up the 1/4!
