Evenin all, I've been thinking for a while about getting rid of the bling under the bonnet... Love the shiny stuff when it's clean, but it's all the polishing....
Don't really want the expense of powder coating, but was wondering about spraying them satin/gloss black. Was the best way to do this? Thorough clean, keying and etch primer before paint? Considering the heat from the header tank, will that risk it peeling? Not expecting a perfect finish, just something I can give a wipe over to clean it up...
Thanks

Well that's what I've done Stu, I'm hoping it'll be okay, but hard to say until it's back on the road, whenever that is.
Here's what mine looked like before I put them back on the car.

One tip, don't paint the ends where the hoses go over because if they get antifreeze on the paint will come off obviously.
This is done with ACID-8 etch primer and Simoniz tough black as a top coat.

That (and Dans(?) flint Saff are awesome, would love to do my engine bay smooth like that!
Looks really good, I was thinking more of satin? (Although, even with my limited spraying "expertise", gloss black normally comes out dull!?
