Found out my cars steering rack and power steering was leaking fluid .

Car is at the spray shop and I can smell burn engine oil .

Anyone had this issues before

 

Can you see where its leaking from?! If it's the original rack/pipes etc they're a good 20+ years old!! Common is the rubber swirly pipe off of the pot as they crack but you can get silicon replacements now. If from the rack could be a seal or o ring gone etc

Find out where the leak is coming from first, pump, rack, pipes, unions

The pipe unions tend to leak where they are crimp fitted from rubber to metal or the rack seals inside leak and then the fluid fills the bellows on the rack ends leading to a much bigger leak all of a sudden
Don't let the fluid get into the alternator either as it will kill it
