Question re doing an mot and a crack in a laminated screen.
If the cracked area is not in the swept area (of wipers) or in drivers sight can a car with a cracked screen be given a pass?

( I remember we did this a few years ago on a track car and we took the passenger wiper arm off to get a pass as that removed it from being in the swept area - have recent rule changes put a stop to this).

It will be getting a new screen soon just don't have time to get one fitted before mot'ing it tomorrow.

 

Yeh your right if its out of the swept area, out of sight and still holds its structural integrity then they can only advise you on it

 

Anything out if the wiper sweep is pass and advise!!

Yep pass. My Sierra has a crack going from the interior mirror to the passenger edge and is fine as it's out of the swept area.
