Default fuel Pumps

Hi Guys,

quick question,

I currently have the intank pump on my sierra, feeding to a swirl pot and then a high pressure fuel pump.

I'm dubious about the flow from the standard in tank pump, and have been thinking of getting rid of the standard in tank pump and using a lift pump to prime the swirl pot and high pressure pump.

I know im currently getting 3 bar fuel pressure at idle, but its just at WOT that im unsure on it.

do most people just upgrade the intank pump or is it better to get rid of the intank pump and use an external lift pump like the early sierras etc.

either way which pump is best to use, looking at supplying enough fuel for 400bhp ish.

thanks

Adam

Well what sierra is it ?

How have you plumbed the system ?

What main pump ?

What size lines etc ?

OEM in tank pumps are generally quite decent, and when used in a low pressure scenario will flow a lot more than when used at efi pressures.
