Well it started as just a little freshen up over winter! But it's turned
Into a full on restoration,
As you can see by the images their is a lot of work to do
But I’m getting there slowly but surly hope to have it finished
In 2 months but I'm sure, i will Find something else wrong

Anyway i hope the images have turned out ok as i had a little trouble
working it all out



















As you can see it's a bit all over the place at the moment i will post more pics as i go, By the way sorry if they don't turn out

Nice to see another s1 being kept alive

 

Well I haven’t had much response but I will keep posting images
Anyway and you can hopefully see the potential my car has
Got by the way the the yellow and blue under the bonnet is
Defiantly going!!







No dents just how they should be










As you can see there is still a lot of work to do
But i'm getting their slowly.

Just to give a little insight for what I have got in store I have just
Orded my new Rad Tec intercooler (large front mounted one)

And the engine and gear box has been fully rebuilt after some tw@t
At a tyre company thought it would be a good idea to jack the car up
On the sump and gear box

Hens starving the engine of oil as the sump had been flattened against the oil pick up
So I made a claim against them and won

So I had a few little extras added so mechanically it's sound now!
It’s just the body work to complete

i will update with images once it's back in my freinds Body Shop!
for the rest of the work

I've had my car for 12 years now and lots of people have offered me good money for it but it's part of the family.

I guess it's here to stay.

The car should be going to the body shop in the next 2 weeks
so hopfully i should have it back on the road Soon!

Yep i'll be doing the engine bay I'm going for the
crome look
then i'm going to have the car booked in for
a chip and a tune up! I hope to be looking for
about 180 BHP I don't think thats too far out for
the spec I'm running.

My mate who will be doing the Bodywork has given me a booking in date
(28th May) watch this space!
big progress hoping to be made, who knows maybe, just maybe! it could be back on the road this time next month!

But I'm not worried my mate Said it's not the worst rust he as
ever seen but it's going to brake the bank!! a little

But what the Mrs don't know won't hurt!!

It's not me that will need the good luck it's the poor panel beater
thats got to cut away all that old rust.
But i've been assured that i have no need to worry it's in safe hands!
the only real worry i have is that the chassie number will be lost
from the floor although i will be taken lot's of pictures to
show it's all been done right!

 

HAHAHA seems like there's more than one around here that has this problem
never the less good luck on the car

Looks like you've already got your teeth into it so don't give up now mate! If the bodyshop can sort it then let them do it, you'll be well pleased as soon as its out I guarantee!

At least another Series 1 will survive, has got to be one of the top 3 RS's made IMO, there unreal when all done, well worth the effort my friend!

well done mate ive been there and it doesnt look that bad check mine out if you want some inspiration i spent ages doing mine and it won a trophy last weekend so its definetly worth it in the end so dont give up

Had today off work and spent all day storking the panel beater at
My mates body shop and as much as I hate to say it I’m glad
Because I got to see just how much care and attention he puts
Into his work and its not every day you can say that in the
Motor trade but trust me on this one! If there’s anybody is in the
Position I am and have bitten of more than they can chew!
Then these are the people you need to see any way have a look at

well the sill has been welded and the inner wing is preped ready
for the wing to go on and be welded.

I've also made a start at fitting the intercooler



Dose anybody notice something they have done
Maybe they should have worked for ford in the 80's
And their wouldn't be so many rotten sills :clap

Well a little more has been done this week just have a look at this for detail

This is an image of the new wing where it joins the front panel
And my mate who dose all the panel beating didn’t like the way they fit
He said their is something missing so he decided to stitch a Ford badge on to the
None genuine front win
How cool is that

Iv'e got a floor now



The intercooler is fit aswell everything is neally ready to be
filled and painted!




Ive got to buy a little 8" fan for the radiator just to aid cooling


I'm like a Kid on Xmas day I can't wait for it to be finished

 

Do what I did and cut the front panel away from the intercooler


This is before the restoration starts. It will be alot more cut away afterwards

All the rust has now gone

just to be filled and painted now

Then it's all got to be built back up
