Default Transit capacity info

Im looking to buy a transit to make into a transporter, now I only want it to carry my mk2 Cortina guessing it weighs around 1000kg.

How can you easily tell the carrying capacity with out looking at the weight plate, ive been told the code on the wing i.e. 125 350 is the bhp and the gross weight.

Ive been offered a single wheel swb transit but not sure if it will have the capacity once a bed is fitted.

Also dose any one know how much over hang your allow passed the rear axle ive been told its no more than half the wheel base.

Transits weigh about 2000kgs so you need a 330 or 350 (3300kgs or 3500kgs) to carry your car. Most transporters are 350's

log wheel base 350, 350 is normally twin rear wheels, single cab is better than crew cab, but with your light weight car it shouldn't matter,
