Default passionbmw peeps!

Hey all,
I went the way many did with a bm two years ago, the plan wad to get an e90 330d.
Just bought one, well kitted out, solid and will looked after.
So time for a remap, it's been nearly a week now.

Any recommendations in the north west for tuners, any first hand experience in terms of performance increase or responsiveness?

Cheers
Sean

Cool, do you do anything with the auto box to speed up changes or let it drop revs to change up in gear a little sooner for economy?

Hi James I've got 59 plate e90 m sport coupe 320d had it 3 yrs & it's just done 60k full BMW s/h would you recommend a chip for this?? Or is it not worth the hassle for the gains? Only I would b very interested if it is worth doing?
What gains in power over the standard 175bhp
& people always say they are better on diesel after?? As surely can't b much better if any??

Cheers Lee

have a look on www.evolutionchips.co.uk in the chip search we list all the gains from a std remap, it will be night and day once its done, and better on fuel by up to 20%

okies, i heard they can be tuned to be more aggressive, and more economical by moving the torque limits up and down at both ends and increasing shifting speed.

just looking on evolutionchips, it only lists a 45bhp increase, many hit a 60bhp increase safely, i could increase size of intercooler if that will help egt's significantly.
got to have diesels remapped, been running a pd bora at 170bhp up from 130 for three years, been fantastic throughout.

Fair points, not looking for dpf delete as it's just been replaced by previous owner, but the standard cooler isn't exactly small either.
Is more response than anything, there are a few companies that offer tcu remaps for the box, but again unknown to me how good these are as the box is a bit lazy in my opinion.
i think i need to get booked in with you

i'll give you a call on monday and try to get me in.
back to the cooler, is it worth a bigger unit at sub 300bhp, or save the hassle as it's not beneficial.
just a fairly simple upgrade essentially.
also, how do you feel about better flowing air filters, e.g. k+n on these, worth bothering with or just a fresh standard will do?

We can do remaps on a compltly std car, the mods you mention will help if you are after more power though it all comes down to what you want.If you bring me a 100% std car, i can certainly make it totally different when you drive away, its astonishing really how different they are.

I found with the cooler, you dont really gain much power, but it stops you loosing it.
After 3 runs from 100-140+ in my 320D the power would drop massively as the charge temps were huge, and you could really feel the power vanishing after every run.
The big cooler kept things constant, 10-15 runs back to back and it was the same every time, no drop in power at all.

Well, all done and well worth it.
Initial thoughts are good, far better on economy, 20 tanks of fuel will pay for the remap easily.
The response is so much better too, not petrol response, but a 3.0 diesel engine with a turbo and an auto box, it's better than it was.
Did i mention the bit of extra power really makes it fly now, dtc off and it's tail happy up to 3rd/4th gear in the damp.
Fast service, nice chaps there.
Need some mods now to push it further

really handy they have a 20% discount on the go too.
good info about the car, i have a wobble at speed on the front under breaking and been confirmed that it is likely wishbone bushes as brakes just been done.
they really know how cars drive to understand the issue with such a short timescale.
