Default 1990 XR2i breathing problems

Ok so I have a fully rebuilt 1.6 cvh EFI engine with 1mm over bore, skimmed head, new cam, new followers, new valves and seats, new pumps, seals, gaskets the lot. Got 195psi on all cylinders during a compression test and ALL breathing pipes are spotless.

I have run the car for about 2 hours in total but covered only 8 miles on the first fun. Starts fine, sounds nice and seems very smooth, idle isn't always brilliant but I noticed an oily mess under the air box.
It looked a bit creamy so I drained oil and coolant but neither were contaminated at all.
I then started to look at the cylindrical oil separator thingy and I believe THIS is at fault.

The separator has 3 pipes as I'm sure you're all aware. Top large pipe to the offside of the rocker, bottom large pipe to the air box and the third small bore pipe to the inlet manifold.

I am assuming the small pipe connected to the inlet manifold is a vacuum pipe sucking vapours from the rocker effectively? I guess this is the case, however when blowing or sucking VERY hard I cannot achieve any sort of air movement as if the canister is blocked.

Would this cause the excessive oil through and into the air box?

If so does anyone know where I can get another oil separator canister thingy from? I'm in need of one pretty sharpish.

Thanks

Marcus
