Is there a gasket between the oil pan and engine? HELP PLEASE!!
Huge question! I have a 2002 Ford Focus with 91,400 miles on it. I took it for an oil change and the 90,000 check up. They found a leak in the gasket between the drip pan and engine. Quoted price was $500 to repair it. I love this little car and it has been very good. There were also a few other things-cleaning up the throttle (they said it was gunky), transmission and antifreeze flush on the initial quote of $600. Then they found the other. Ideas? This was a Ford dealership.
Thank you for any input!

I think you re been ripped off ! !, no there is no gasket and a sump is only around 60 - 80 UK POUNDS (non genuine part) and then the sealent for the best results is around £20 a tube (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/like/32078...f14=108&ff19=0) and not a hard job to do, the other work again wow very expensive ! maybe ring around other workshops for prices !
