Is that a big NO NO then with having so many owners as there is no service history with the car????
The chap selling it seems really genuine but just a little concerned with the high number of owners n no history
I wouldn't worry about the owners. Just give it a damn good servicing if you decide to buy it - cambelts etc.
They tend to have a lot of owners for different reasons - they're not really an everyday car you can park up in town every night. Insurance killed off a lot of owners in the 80's & 90's too. I'm the 8th owner of my car, but luckily mine's had an uneventful and respectful life with all the previous owners....
As for service history - I went to Ford with mine and the service manager scratched his head and said he had no idea what to charge for a service as he hadn't seen one in years. These cars tend to be enthusiast owned now, and hence much of the servicing is done "at home...."
History gets lost, receipts get lost - it's unfortunate but it happens to 20 year old cars with lots of owners....
They're not the most practical (or reliable) car these days either.
Only question I would be asking is why is it for sale when the new owner has only had it for a couple of months.....
If it's a good one then snap it up. Just be carefull......

Cheers Dry thanks for the offer but he has now sold it
To be fair to the seller he was very honest with the description and mentioned that it was overpriced before. Believe me he has sold it for alot lot less than 5.5k and I think the new owner will have a bargain, well thats if it goes through the MOT with no problems as the MOT was up on her
the car was sold to S1 rs turbo via ebay for 4.5k back in January
it looks like it just sold on ebay for less than 3k
the car could've been broken up for more than 3k alone.
I paid 4.5k for it when i brought it and i spent a fortune on it so i lost on it everyone trys to make the most they can on any car they buy and sell on

Well, a did sell it for a helluva lot less than a paid, but a think a paid over the odds for it to start
Just fell in love wi it when a saw it, and paid what the boy wanted, and would still have it now if it wasn't for the fact a cant afford to run and insure to cars
Will deffo get a Series 1 in the future tho, a love them!
Thanks to everyone for the info on it tho
