Red face Mk5 Zetec s. New puma project. Remap + +

Right. My girlfriend just crashed my baby. Im looking at another fiesta mk5 but want advice on engine upgrades.

This would with;
a full 1.7 puma conversion with parts Gearbox, cambelt kit, belt tensioners and bolts, oil filter ngk platinum spqrk plugs.
220mm clutch replacement Kit.
Remap of some sort with torque limiter removed.
421 exhaust manifold system with decat pipe.
An induction kit.
Racing puma camshafts

Totaling £2685 fitted. But this puts it close to a st150 conversion. which opens it up to more upgrades later on. How much power could realisticly be created from the 1.7?

Are these realistic mods to add to the puma engine or useless. Will i gain anything from having the other things done and will these upgrades cause any problems? Im a complete noob to power mods so any info at all will be usefull. I just wanna break 140bhp while will keeping the car reliable. The puma lump alone at around 125bhp but its power to weight level on paper keeps it level pegging with the mk6 st already. Iim thinking the fiesta st mondeo engine will be heavy, the mk5s party piece is its handling and wouldnt want to compromise that in anyway.

just buy a donor puma and save a massive amount on that price tag, even with miltech exhaust etc and many tweeks wont come anywhere near that figure, for £2700 I would simply buy a better car and move on from the fez

I simply cant think of a better car. I sold my 2008 9n3 polo gti to buy my other zetec s. Theyre my childhood stars, everything about them from their looks to the way they drive and the way the make me feel.

I want to keep it until dies, and was thinking the puma engine would give it a new long lasting life. I want to supprise people. its so light, a 130bhp-140bhp ZS i believe is going to do that.

So if it was yours what mods would you do for 2-3k

as much as I love fords I would need my head looking at spending that amount on a ZS, puma engine is way to go and with some well chosen mods you should have change out of a grand and acheive around 140-/150 hp

As said above just get a rusty ford puma bought which has a good engine. You could also buy a ST170 and try and squeeze the engine and box in.
