Had the fuel pump on the track car develop a loud intermitent crackle noise, like it was struggling ,so decided to replace with a new bosch one from burtons ,this too makes the same noise ,any ideas what could be the cause ,car is mk4 escort with 2.0 l zetec, rs turbo set up for tank and pump

 

It it getting the full voltage e.g 14.4v at the pump mate?

 

Turns out the problem is in the tank ,as i disconneted the rubber hose off the tank to the pump ,ran a new hose from the pump to a petrol can to act as a new fuel source and the pump runs nice and quiet ,also when i uncrimped the rubber hose from the bottom of the fuel tank expecting loads to gush out, only a dribble came out and this is with a full tank !!!!!!!!!!

 

Always nice to find the problem, its when you carnt find the fault it becomes a pain in the arse lol

 

Get it sorted for next year
