the pedal releases within the first inch or less (too short). The car had a new pawl fitted 30k ago and there is no cable slack, when the pedal is pressed the gearbox lever (spline type) moves right away and the lever/thrust bearing is in close contact with the pressure plate, I know this because when the cable is disconnected the lever sits in about the same position before the thrust bearing comes into contact with the pressure plate.
Car due for drive shaft oil seals soon so want to know what to do, if box is to come out then now's the time to know.
