Rear tie bar removal.... Thickie moment alert.

Evening,
Today I made a start on the winter fettle project. Got the fuel out the tank, diagnosed a possible burnt valve causing compression issues.
Started stripping the rear suspension to get it painted, but I fell at the first hurdle. Got the nuts and bolts off the rear tie bars no problem, but cant for the life of me get it out of the hub. Ive tried cutting the bush (im replacing all of them), hammering it out with the nut on to protect the threads, and pulling like a mad man from the other end.
What am I missing on this?

the bushes are bonded to tubes, these tubes rust to the tie-rod
you need to cut away the bush closest to the threaded end, watch your veins !!!
or better still get a small blowtorch on it and will come away in around 30 seconds

Yeah tie bars are unbolted from chassis (that was the end I was pulling on). I started cutting away with a Stanley knife on the thread like you've said mk2grp1, but I soon go sick, as Id spent most the day taking the head off.
Dont have a blow torch, but do have a heat gun I can attack it with.

I would never cut them with a Stanley knife, much too old and wise .
however you had mentioned cutting
I was simply saying carry on you`ll get there in the end hack saw better
heat or to be more precise, blowtorch is best, heatgun may take a long time,
if the bushes look pretty shot, squirt wd40 and some stilsons or water pump plier action will get it moving,
a good belt every now and again too ,,as you see fit

to add this If your not done yet, you could drill around the bush to weaken the bond from bush to tube, then wrench donut off , this will get your tie rod off the hub then you could hacksaw or grind the tube free and get the other bush off much easier with hub out of way, tubes should free up after a few smacks

mine were like this when i redone mine. bloody nightmare!! i fitted the floflex bushes and they were a crap fit. had to trim them to get them to fit as they failed mot with too much play!
