Cossie 4x4 knocking
Evening all
I have developed a really annoying knocking on the front drives side.
It happens more at speed when going round a left hander. The knocking feels to be coming through the steering wheel too, but the also seem to be a grinding rubbing noise. Just recently fitted koni's and springs. Any thoughts?
Thanks

Sounds like it could be driveshaft/cv joint issue but could be wrong, did the drive shaft pop out when the suspension was fitted and did it get put back right?
The shaft did pop out yea.
It's a wired noise it's only when turning left, theres a knocking almost like the whole wheel is knocking then you get a grinding/rubbing noise. I've checked ball joints and at first thought strut tops weren't seated properly an something was in contact but they seem fine too.
I'm a bit lost now.

Is your bottom ball joint nut an bolt loose. Ive had this before on mine. I could go down the road and turn the ssteering from side to side and it would knock like mad.

its the exhaust touching the chassis near the ant roll bar mounting, crack off the 3 nuts on the turbo, re centre the exhaust between the chassis and front prop then re tighten the bolts
if its not check the engine mounts particularly the drivers side

Thanks for you feedback fellas I have a few things I can check there. The shaft popes out of the diff, do these just side in and out? If that's the case surely just poping it back in cannot of nakerd it???
When it went for MOT the tester did say he had adjusted the exhaust to stop the rear pipe knocking on the diff, on thing is the noise really sound like it's coming from the front drivers corner??
