poly bush vs original trailing arm bush
How much difference do the powerflex trailing arm bushes make on a 2wd cosworth? Mine had been changed to poly bushes years ago. I have heard that there are remanufactured originals available and they are better because the are a ball joint. Has anyone switched back from powerflex to these original spec bushes and was it worth the cost?
I could never understand why people did this? I'm sure ploys were ok on an 1800lx?
Put the bearings back in (decent used trailing arms will prob be easier/alot cheaper) and while you're at it put some solid beam mounts and one of those msd diff mounts on.
You'll be amazed at the difference.

Worth the cash then... I have the arms out at the moment stripped for powdercoat etc. I will buy the original spec bushes. I was thinking about turning up some solid mount beam bushes anyway and a new diff mount is on order. Cheers.

Ive spoke to a few people about rear arm bushes. The people with poly bushes said they couldnt tell the difference between poly and standard.
I spoke to a few people who said poly bushes are a no no.
I bought a used pair of arms and carefully remove the seals. I removed the old grease and repacked the bushes/bearing.

With the std beam setup its got to be the only way of making sure the rear axle isn't moving/twisting under load or braking
Reason probably being the ford bushes were most likely shagged out ! but ford new bushes are far more more superior to poly ones but people shy away and go for the lesser bush due to price

Cheers again guys. The replacement standard one are pretty pricey. If I do make new solid beam mounts and fit the new billet/poly diff mount will the trailing arm bushes still make a huge improvement over powerflex?
