Fitting a slave cylinder to a 2wd cossie box

Fitting a slave cylinder to a 2wd cossie box
Can any one who has done this or has it done tell me how far away the fork is from the bell housing when the slave is fully extended?
I don't won't to weld a bit to my fork for the slave to push on with out knowing it's in the right place and the clutch will release as far as it should
