ENGINE WAS RUNNING PERFECT FOR 3 MILES THEN
IT SUDDERNLY STARTED TO PLAY UP AND NOT REV PAST 1200RPM
HAD A LOOK NO PIPE OFF AND TICK OVER IS SPOT ON

ANY IDEAS

 

Throttle cable ?

Does the throttle body open?

 

Update is that picked car up from were I left it and drove home perfectly
But by the time I got home it started to play up again so it's temp related but what I'm under sure

Some say blue temp sensor on back of head to change first ?

 

Yeah back of the head above the brass dash temp sensor.

The ecu reads engine temps through the blue one. If its giving the ecu the wrong info it may be faulty.

Worth a try, but I don't think it will cure it. They either work or don't.

Check all of the jpt connectors on the engine sensors, you may have a broken wire

 

Check wires going to MAP sensor, will tickover (badly) but not rev....

 

Check the connectors to loom by the coil Dean, these play up for a past time and ive removed the plugs on many and soldered the wiring.

also check map sensor pipework-and that you dont have a boost hose off...
