As title should I put a focus rs mk1 engine and box in my s2. Eaney help and advice would be good thanx.

 

Plenty of info regarding it on here, have a look through the search section. Will need custom mounts, custom driveshafts, hydraulic clutch conversion, some inner wing/chassis leg modification. Suitable management, some custom plumbing and a few other bits.

Thanx studabear it's the inner wing/ chassis leg I'm not sure on I will have a look at the link now. Don't won't to chop it to much as the shell is good as just under 50k on it.

 

That link doesn't cover the inner wing mods but it is a great source of info.

 

The mods to the inner wing are minor to be honest mate. Just need caressing a little with grinder+ hammer and a little welding then a custom mount welding to the chassis leg.

There's a few diff ways to achieve the same result please type of info about in different threads and people's build threads.

As mentioned you will need mounts and custom shafts also aswell as someway to solve the speedo issue as the frs box is electronic speedo

I'm in the middle of this very conversion and it's been nearly finished for over a year!! Need to pull my finger out really but so.times life just takes over!

 

If your happy with 300bhp and don't want to cut your car or weld mounts then you could run an IB5 gearbox, direct bolt onto the block, uses RST drive shafts and you can get mechanical speedo and cable clutch version's too.
