Don't bother. If you want a focus with a bigger engine (1.8 or 2L) then just buy another Focus. You'll pay more insurance for having an engine swap than you will if you just buy the car the engine came from.

a modified car with an engine transplant will cost more to insure than a standard sporty model. so its pretty pointless really. unless ofcourse your planning on insurance fraud. in which case you better hope nothing happens, for example a crash or a random police stop, if that does you can forget insuring anything for a while

cheers for the feedback thort I would get that kind of answer truth hurts lol if to say I wasn't telling the Insurence and I was generally modifying by doing a engine swap wat would be most best option as I know the st has got 6 gears ?

Don't be sucked in by the 6 speed.

The more powerful RS has a five speed.

Just go for a 2.0 petrol or get a 1.8 TDCI and get it mapped.

The diesel with a map is the best bang for buck on a MK1/MK1.5 if you are not going down the ST/RS route.
