Default IB5 Gearbox Options

Hello everyone, bit of a lurker in here but need a definitive answer for some info on IB5 Gearboxes.

So I have built up a zetec turbo for my S2 but I know for a fact that the BC box is not going to cope with this so looking to upgrade this as best and as simple as possible lol.

MTX is a bit too much for me at the moment regarding cable shifts and custom mounts etc so I am looking into ib5 for now.

What is the best option for me to get in regards to an ib5 box? It is going to be for a road car. I know from reading on here that the Ka 1.3 box is a good box to use as its close to the RST gearing ratios, However this requires a Hydraulic clutch conversion which looks a bit complicated even according to the guide Karlos did, Is there an Ib5 box that would have similar ratios as the RST/Ka1.3 box but allow me to keep a cable clutch? An Escort GTI 16v gearbox perhaps?

Or is the best option to bite the bullet and do the hydraulic conversion?

I am going to get the LSD put in the box anyway from my S2 box

All help appreciated and thanks for reading my ramble

You could probably get a mk5 escort front starter box and have the ka gears and s2 lsd fitted into it, the escort gti box is another option.

Escort GTI box is fine but of course has very close ratios, not best suited to forced induction applications.
