Default Opinion on digital speedometers?

I'm currently researching a project in making cockpit instruments/dials more clearer in terms of corporal visibility and easier to read for drivers. More recently car developers are using digital speedometers in their products. I have came up with a new type of speedometer which takes readings every .25 milliseconds. The digital speedometer display will be in conjunction and synchronised to an analogue speed display. The aim is to give the driver a good indication of there speed in differentiation. For example with this new display you will be able to actually physically see the deviation in the motion of speed. An example would be travelling up hill on a motorway and seeing the speed physically decrease on the digital reading. Going down hill on a motorway you will physically see the speed increasing on the digital display. The current digital displays aren't that consistent or accurate, for example accelerating hard from 40MPH and the digital display will 'jump' and miss speed readings E.G: 40, 42, 45, 46, 49 and so on. With this display this won't happen. Please see this video to see for yourself.

It would be nice if you could give me a 'yes' or 'no' if you'd like to see this type of digital display in future products.

Thank you.

I would have thought car manufacturers have looked at this already and rejected it mainly on cost grounds but possibly on the distraction factor.

Speedo design has to suit every driver across the whole World in extremely varying conditions.

It would be a No from me.

Changing too often would be a distraction.
Analogue will always be better, but then I'm a dinosaur

I would like to see a prototype before I could really say whether I like it or not. I have seen a few cars that have both a digital speedometer and a more traditional analog speedometer as well. I must admit however, that the Diablo Trinity I have also shows the speed. I mainly look at it to know my speed instead the traditional analog speedometer on my dashboard.

Citroen had a digital speedo in the Picasso...prefer a needle moving on a gauge!
