Just bought a mk1 focus 1.6 from a barn off a farmer I know and plan to make it a cheap track car! Just go it home and the work starts next week, first off ill give it a service , check the brakes etc, cut the cat out and strip it!
good lad, icepipe motorsport has a new member, sort those photos out or no goodies, looks a clean shell and thats all thats needed for a work in progress,
gets some track time in and enjoy it, fruitbat
I'll bin the engine when it blows up or I get bored, for now ill just consecrate on handling and just having fun in it! Cleaned it today to get the dust off and now I'm just going to give it a look over to see where I'm at
Striped it out today as I was going to check the suspension and brakes out but I took the wheel caps off to find locking wheel nuts and I don't have a locking nut adaptor so I just cleaned the car up abit and stripped it out, I was sweating my balls off!!
passenger airbag is about 5kg with brackets. they are a fiddle to get out. take glove box out and up under the airbag is a either 2 or 3 nuts you have to undo to get the top cover off the you screw it out from above.
just be careful near the petrol tank. its very easy to go all the way through with them drill bits and the tank is a few mm away from some of the drivers side rear brackets. i almost did it thats how i know lol
Also one good thing about your old man keeping lots of old car parts is him pulling out 2x oil filters, a cam belt, a washer for the sump plug, a oil pressure switch and some rockercover gaskets! So I banged out a quick oil change! My god was that oil dirty!
Thanks ICEPIPE MOTORSPORTS for the new front suspension arms! I'll tackle them at the weekend along with more stripping and finally getting the wheels off!

Had a little tinker on the car this after work for half an hour, changed the air filter and put some fresh oil in it. Bit concerned with the crack in the window though
