federal 595rs-r
Hi Guys,
I am looking at getting federal 595rs-r for my track saph.
I am on 17" wheels currently using 215 40 goodyear eagle f1 which is a great road tyre, but the federals done do a 215 40.
can I get away with using a 215 45 on the front and a 225 45 on the back, without catching on anything?
I know the front shocks are close but not sure if anyone has used them?
any help appreciated.
thanks
Adam

Depends on your suspension height really but with a little arch rolling quite a few people run 235/40 on the rear.
I,ve just about got 235/40 kumho v70 to fit on the front as well with a little persuasion
not tried these on track yet though.
TBH for the last few yrs my favourite for track has been 225/45 16 all round. Was running these last Sunday at National Day.

Are the Kumho and Federals a cheaper alternative to Toyo R888's?
Thinking of getting a set of toyo's soon, but could be swayed if there is a similar tyre for less cash

I was really impressed with the federal at ford fair. I don't have much to compare it to track tyre wise but it was good.
Kumho v70 is a track tyre like the r888, but better IMO, they don't overheat the same as the 888's do. They do tend to be cheaper as well.
The federals are a road tyre, with road compound so are not a match to the above 2. The kumho and toyo become a very sticky tyre when warmed up.
