Default SportKa Engine Transplants

What conversions are fairly simple to do into a SportKa,ie pretty much drop straight in? Was thinking good old Puma? But what about 2 litre Blacktops etc?

The puma engine will bolt to your gearbox, you just have to make an engine mount for the timing belt side, Id prefer to modify the rocam, having a sportka myself the engine has bags of potential, a one litre version was available in mexico with a supercharger put out over 90 brake. If you wanted 1.8 or 2.0 zetec you need pre 03 1.3ka gearbox and modify the slam panel a little

What's a rocam? Isn't the Puma lump a lot more involved than a 1.8/2.0 Zetec?

No you need to change the engine the loom and ecu and ignition key chip, make one engine mounting for the timingbelt side either way, but if you go 1.8or 2.0 youll have to change your gearbox too
the 1.7 is a better choice as its easier and lighter, sportkas are nose heavy enough as they are

Yeah I suspected the Puma lump would be a bit lighter, but isn't there less tuning potential? Im sure I heard the 1.8/2.0 could mate up to the Sport gearbox,is that incorrect then?

Everything can be tuned if your gonna spend enough on it, theres trottle body kits etc if bringing one to racing puma spec isnt enough for you, the bigger zetecs would mate to your gearbox but youd have nowhere to put your starter motor.
