Default A Few Questions About 3 Bar Map Sensors

What exactly do they do?

Are they just plug and play, or do they need tinkering with somehow?

I need a new one, ...any advice where to get one?

Cheers

You'll struggle to get 1 just now as they seem to be out of stock for the foreseeable future pretty much everywhere
They're not just a straight swap over either
They can only be used with a chip that's spec'd to require a 3 bar
Usualy fitted along with other parts that take you over 1 bar of boost pressure
You can't just change the sensor by itself
Unless you've been changing other parts then there's no need to upgrade to a 3bar

i heard devil developments had some..if you already have one fitted then yes its plug and play

its a manifold absolute pressure sensor,as in it senses the amount of pressure (boost) in the inlet manifold

atmospheric pressure is 1 bar (14.7 psi) with a 3 bar sensor (mapped to your car) you can run 1 bar atmo+ 2 bar of boost

Think I may have not read this correct,
As above if you already have 1 fitted then yes they swap straight over
I was under the impression you only had a 2 bar currently fitted
Somebody had a thread on here last week looking for 1 as devil developments has supposedly run out now as well

Thanks for the replies. I'm needing one to replace one I already have as when pulling hose from it, the plastic tube snapped... Seems common if not careful and yeah that's good to know that it's just plug and play as already running one.

I'm not in a rush for one right now but will need one eventually whenever I get round to putting car back together.

If you still have any Lancia spare parts places open or maybe a Fiat dealer just ask for the second grey sensor fitted on the '90/'91 non cat evo delta. 1 was the black 2 Bar version and fitted along side it was the grey 3 Bar version.
