Default Turbo jacket.

Hi all.

Thinking of getting a turbo jacket for my Zetec Turbo fiesta. It's running a T3, oil cooled.

Heard good and bad things about them. Obviously a good that it keeps things cooler under the bonnet, and heat energy contained in the turbo is good, but I've heard they can hinder the oil cooling process and cause premature wear to the turbo bearings.

Anyone got any input?

Matt

also heard that the casings end up cracking due to the heat not being able to escape

Yeah I've heard that, but another theory is that they are less likely to crack, as its the going from hot to cold that causes the crack, and with a jacket they cool down slower.
