Default Evo Engine & Box in FWD ?

boy its quiet in here for fords, lol .
Can you use an Evo engine and box as just FWD , i have an Evo 8 to strip here and need an engine for one of my Front wheel drive cars, is it possible to play with the gearbox output to allow only a FWD application including the diff ??

yes is your answer,

the pug was running around 500+ if I can remember, will try and dig out some photo's we took when we seen it at pod.

Project RS is installing an evo engine into his s2 mated to a mtx. Crazycage aka gary has already modified the bolt paterns allowing this, will be speaking to Project rs over the weekend about my fish tank so will touch base on how he is getting on, they dont come on here much anymore but im sure if you give their profile a poke they will hapilly offer any advice should you need it.

If i remember correctly they are using an evo6 engine if thats relevent.

Hope this helps.

That 205 used an Evo engine with a Ford MTX mounted to it.

Richard Batty with the 1000+bhp FTO uses an Evo engine and 'box converted to FWD so it is possible.

Yes, but the engine/box combos are very heavy. There's much better options for fwd.
If you really want to do it and are thinking to use a ford box, DJM Motorsport will be able to supply you with the required parts to adapt the two.

What car is this to go in?
I'm pretty certain mk2 RS shafts won't fit the mtx75 box too

Potentially a Focus , it uses Mk2 Focus RS hubs so it would be a bonus if there was an off the peg driveshaft option already .

Should have plenty of space in a focus - it was tight between the chassis rails on the fiesta!

As above, remember that the evo engine and box is very heavy. Just discussed with a friend at Gatebil today about his evo 8; 180kg engine.

thats fine in a race car ,i would want weight over the nose in a FWD car anyway , impressive in a fiesta -youre right the engine bay in my Focus' is massive ,imonly considering this because i have the engine available and it saves me buying and building the right Ford engine for it !
