Hypercar event @ Brunters
This event took place at Brunters last week & it was for Hypercars only so no Cossie invites for this one
. The Koenigsegg CCX was fastest with a 211mph run.
This past weekend saw the return of http://www.vmax200.com/ and http://www.autovivendi.com/ flagship event "HyperMax"
The rules are simple..set your sights to try and topple the current Vmax record (which currently stands at 229mph) over a 2 mile straight. All speeds are recorded with laser speed traps.
As this was their flagship event, some of the rarest most powerful supercars were in attendance.
Koenigsegg CCX
McLaren P1
McLaren F1 GTR
RUF CTR3
Porsche Carrera GT
Ferrari 458 Speciale
Ferrari F12
Ferrari Enzo
Lamborghini Aventador
and a host of various Porsche, including the 9e GT2 (tuned in the UK by 9excellence)
here are some of the shots.. I will be uploading a lot more in the next few days

The race is on....

and the overall winner of the day was......

Koenigsegg CCX = 211mph
Porsche 9e GT2 = 210mph
McLaren P1 = 209mph
RUF CTR3 = 207mph
Audi R8 TT = 205mph
Aventador = 204mph
Ferrari F12 = 202mph
Ferrari Enzo = 201mph
Many thanks to Craig and his team for putting on a faultless event. Roll on the next one

Seen loads of pictures on Facebook over the last few days from the event, some truly stunning cars.
Respect goes to the guy with the P1 , he seems to be getting loads of use out of it.
Shame the two 4.1 9e cars weren't ready in time.

211 mph is quite some way off the 229mph record no? How come the Koenigsegg was soslow?
Who or what holds the 229 mph record?
What speed have you got at Brunters Rod? Wasn't it 206? Not surprised they didn't want any 4 cylinder cars ruining their fun

& then a bit more
.When you call the Koenigsegg slow remember a Macca f1 just reached 200mph there & the Aventadour can just scrap it.
The progress at Vmax is amazin the Guy Ratcliffe Porsche was the first to crack 200mph back in November 2005 now 50+ runs have been achieved.
It may be uncool in the RS scene to try Topspeed runs but this event proves that lots are trying. I still hope to run at a Vmax close to my 70 birthday in 2015.

I was at Brunters yesterday doing abit of mapping in the 3 Door fastest I saw was 165mph (on my new digital speedo) but then my close ratio box and 3.9 diff don't really lend themselves to top speed.
Got to Park up right next to a Nimrod wish i'd taken a photo now

That must of been hell of a thing to witness. Would they let you run at a vmax event then Rod? Going by what some have said on here its not so much that fords don't want to run, its they cant get an invite to run.
Some incredible cars there, it also highlights how impressive your car is to be up there with them!
There's plenty of fords out there that would make even the gtr record look slow, the modified ford gt's in America currently knocking on the door of 290mph in a mile.

Thats some speed.
It's crazy that in 2014 cars are still only just getting past 200mph, maybe there's something I'm missing but it's hardly impressive anymore, supercars were hitting over 200 twenty years back were they not? So in that respect not a lots changed?
I think it's more a show of how fast these cars are in gear to be able to do it in that short space. The fastest of the fastest modern cars only just do it I dare say an 80's or 90's super car that can do 200 would not get anywear near it in that space
Would a mclaren f1 not be up there in the 210+ Be interesting to know
nope - check the pics there was one in attendence and didn't do it. Granted, the race version had about 25 hp less than the road going version due to restrictors on the intake but it still didn't do it.
Its the distance . An F40 would not even get close to 200 at Brunters or any Lambo except an Adventadour. The Enzo that did was probably modded as they are usually short of 200mph. A Macca has done 200 there but only just. A Ferrari 360 reaches mid 170's a 599 cant do it.
We cant compete at the highest level in the UK but we can keep the Cossie flag flying we are still the Fastest Ford in the UK just pipping the Roosh GT Mirage but im sure that record will go before we run again. 2nd behind Andy's Scoob as fastest 4 Cylinder we would hope to nab that record back if we run again.
Im 70 next year & will wait untill then to run again so dont worry Glenn we have loads of time to finish the car. Remember my age Glenn does you Dad not sleep at night worrying about finishing his 1000bhp Cossie
Interesting stuff, CCC mag (remember that?) tested an F40 at an airfield and got it up to 192mph, I don't know if it had been tuned or what airfield it was done at. Just goes to show how hard it really is to hit big speeds. I wonder what a jag xj220 would do, anyone ever seen one of them tested? Was quicker acceleration than a zonda, I would of thought it would be close to 200
